There are three main reasons I’ve fallen in love with pixel art, and their names are Penusbmic, Adam, and Slynyrd. Each of them has inspired me in their own unique way, motivating me to dive deep into the world of pixels and showing me how amazing this art form can be.
Penusbmic introduced me to the magic of Aseprite – and honestly, also to seeing my mouse not as an enemy but as a partner. Thanks to his tutorials, I learned how easy it is to create small animations. My first asset pack to practice with? Naturally, I bought it from him. Best investment ever, even if I’m now slightly addicted.
Adam showed me that pixel art isn’t just visually stunning but fits perfectly into the world of indie game development. His insights into game creation really hit my retro-loving heart. Suddenly, I thought, “Hey, I can do this too!”
Slynyrd taught me how to bring sci-fi-style pixel art to life. His animated GIF tutorials are short, sharp, and so incredibly helpful that I almost feel like a pro just watching them. His blog is a treasure trove for any pixel artist who loves attention to detail.
If you’re looking for inspiration, I can’t recommend their Patreon pages enough – all three offer amazing content. But beware: their deals are so good, you might find yourself becoming a lifelong subscriber!
